Our Client:

An American national retailer, founded nearly 50 years ago. They are one of the leading off-price retailers in the country with over 700 stores and revenues of over $6 billion.

  • The client was experiencing a marked increase in network infrastructure incidents (frequency, duration, and magnitude) which were impacting the business.
  • The client had previously outsourced all of its operations functions and a significant portion of its engineering functions to a 3rd party service provider

The Engagement:

  • Acuative executed a three-phased project to mobilize, stabilize and improve network infrastructure stability and operational support.

The Approach:

  • Utilized Acuative’s methodology and experienced engineering team to thoroughly assess and quantify the network infrastructure design and service management structures.
  • Developed and implemented a plan to provide a fully managed network, supported by the Acuative 24x7 Network Operations Centre.
  • Designed and implemented service operations improvements aligning with industry frameworks and best practices (e.g. ITIL).

The Results:

  • Renewed and upgraded network – transitioning from an MPLS to SD-WAN network
  • Reduced the total cost to implement and support new technology
  • Reduced ongoing monthly costs despite resulting in a lower revenue for Acuative – acting as a true consultant
