In this interview, we’re excited to spotlight one of Acuative’s seasoned Digital Business Development Executives, Nicole Amaro, who brings over 15 years of industry experience to the table, including more than 13 years with our company. With a wealth of knowledge gained from a long-standing career, she has witnessed the evolution of the managed network services landscape and has played a pivotal role in driving growth and success at Acuative. Let’s dive into her journey, insights, and what she values in her career in sales.

Tell us about your background in sales.

I’ve been involved with retail sales since I was 14, starting with my dad’s hardware store. Over the years, I’ve gained experience selling everything from clothing and shoes to accessories. But never did I imagine I’d find myself in IT sales. 🙂 At Acuative, I started in sales support on the contract administration side, which was a whole new ballgame for me. However, instead of sitting back and feeling frustrated by what I didn’t know, I took the initiative. As the role evolved and customer demands grew, I worked hard to become an industry expert. Now, 13.5 years later, I’ve worked my way up through our organization. Sales and Technology are constantly evolving and requires a commitment to continuous growth and adaptation.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in your sales career so far?

Active listening! This allows you to capture details that can make all the difference. By truly hearing the customer and fully understanding their needs, you build trust, which in return allows you to offer more tailored recommendations and strengthen the relationship. It’s not just about responding but about engaging meaningfully, showing empathy, and addressing concerns that might not have been explicitly stated. This approach fosters long-term loyalty and positions you as a trusted advisor rather than just a salesperson.

What do you find most rewarding about working at Acuative?

Acuative recently celebrated their 40th anniversary and to be part of this legacy is pretty remarkable. While I definitely believe that Acuative stands out with its unique capabilities to deliver first class services on a global scale, what I truly find most fulfilling is the people I work with. I’ve had the honor of meeting, collaborating with, and learning from some incredibly talented men and women, and for that I have nothing but gratitude.
